Can I add ventilation to my sun tunnel?
It is not possible to add background/trickle ventilation to a VELUX sun tunnel directly.
However, VELUX can provide a manifold (ZTV), which can be installed directly into the sun tunnel flashing (on the roof). This manifold can then be connected to a third party extractor fan, and a third party tubing. The tubing connects directly to this manifold, whilst the tubing runs parallel to the sun tunnel tube. The tubing then exits through an extractor fan in the interior ceiling. This addition helps to assist with extraction of moisture or air.
The ZTV is only compatible with:
- TWF and TWR model sun tunnels
- 14" tube diameter
- installed into a sloping roof
- tile roofing material
Considerations for third party products:
- The tube must be 100mm in diameter
- For optimal performance, we recommend that the tubing is a maximum of 1.5m long.
- The extractor fan should have a valve to seal the tube when not in use
