At the VELUX Group we strive to continually integrate sustainability into our decision-making, operations, and solutions.
We design our roof windows to last, to perform, and to minimise their environmental footprint using more recyclable materials, energy-efficient solutions, and packaging that avoids plastic waste.
It’s all part of our commitment to helping you create a healthier, more comfortable home without compromising on environmental responsibility.

One installation. A generation of use.
A VELUX roof window is produced using high-quality materials that ensure a long lifetime of use.* Our modular design philosophy makes maintenance, repairs, and upgrades easy, prolonging the product’s lifespan and supporting the circular economy.
*VELUX roof windows meet the highest quality standards and undergo extensive testing. This includes exposing the roof window to a year’s rainfall in just 15 minutes, and a mechanical test that opens and closes the window 25,000 times. That’s the equivalent of opening and closing the roof window, twice a day, for 34 years.

Rethinking the way we build
As part of an industry that accounts for over a third of the global CO2 emissions, we want to be part of finding ways to build more sustainably. Through our Build for Life project and Living Places concept, we aim to lead the way within the building industry and show how rethinking buildings can help solve some of the global climate and health challenges we face.
Children’s Living Places
Initiated by SOS Children’s Villages Denmark, Children’s Living Places will house children displaced by the war in Ukraine. It comprises three clusters of low-carbon, healthy homes, where children will live with foster families, receive psychosocial support and have access to shared recreational spaces.
